Ibarapa Youth Summit to foster unity and promote development in the region- Fatoyinbo




The chief convener of Ibarapa youth Summit Comrade Fatoyinbo  Akinola has said the rationale behind the summit is to foster unity and promote development in the region

Akinola in a chat with journalists in Ibadan said the summit is  not a political gathering  but an avenue to discuss about the  unity for the youths and the elders as well as speaking with one voice

According to him  “We realize that it is  high time the youth of the region come together  to fight a common  course  which is the  development of our region,  interim of, Infrastructural development, basic amenities, education , security and be united to achieve  political development and economic empowerment of that region.

The  event which is scheduled to hold in October is  themed of the event is” Unity, catalysts for development of Ibarapaland’


 
Part of the program outlined for the event according to the organizers includes,  a lecture on  Unity  and the need to unite , security, education and entrepreneurship . Good will messages from eminent personalities from the region and others

“We believe that without unity there is absolutely nothing we can achieve, we will also  talk about security which is becoming a threat in our region, we want to look at how the youth can be engaged, we also want to look at ICT  and  Youth empowerment and we are not leaving out entrepreneurship .

Speaking on the sustainability of the event, Fatoyinbo said “ Its is not going to be a one off thing, it is an annual event  we will do it every year this is the first  edition and by God’s grace the second edition will be an improvement on the first one

Dignitary expected at the event include , Eleruwa of Eruwa, Oba Samuel Adegbola and other traditional rulers in the state, Speaker of  Oyo state House of Assembly, Rt Hon Debo Edward Ogundoyin, Hon Funmi Orisadeyi, state commissioner for local government and chieftaincy matters,  Hon Seun Fakorede,   commissioner for Youth and Sport , Youths  group, secondary school students  among others.
