Asian-African Chamber of Commerce Doles Awards To Etsu Nupe, Foreign Affairs Minister







Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Zubeiru Dada, has been conferred with the Honoris Causa Degree of the University of Entrepreneurship and Technology, State of Delaware, US, as well as a leadership award in public administration by the Asian African Chambers of Commerce and Industry (AACCI).

AACCI said the award was in respect of Dada’s contributions to the economic growth and infrastructural development of Nigeria.








AACCI Vice Chairman for Africa, Dr. High Prince Olaleye Babalola, Emir of Nupe in Niger State, Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, CFR, and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Zubeiru Dada, at the award ceremony by the Asian African Chambers of Commerce and Industry (AACCI), held in the Conference Hall of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja, on Tuesday
The two-in-one ceremony, which took place inside the Conference Hall of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja, also saw the conferment of the AACCI leadership award on the Emir of Nupe in Niger State, Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, CFR.

The Emir’s award was in recognition for his immense contributions to the country’s economic growth and infrastructural development.

A degree and leadership award also went to Dr. Aishat Ndayako Muhammed, Director in the Ministry of Works.

Founder and Chairman of AACCI, Professor Dr. G.D. Singh, represented by the Vice Chairman for Africa, Dr. High Prince Olaleye Babalola, said each of the awardees contributed in no small measure to the growth and development of Nigeria.

He specially commended the Minister for his efforts at promoting commerce and trade in Nigeria and Africa in general through his well thought-out policies at the ministry.

Furthermore, he urged the Minister to assist the chamber in gaining unfettered access to e-Trade, e-commerce and investments among Africa and Asia, as well as open access to some global organisations.

Speaking further, Babalola, a Prince of the Oyo Kingdom, praised the leadership and entrepreneurial qualities of the respected royal father, the Etsu Nupe.

He said that as a retired General in the Nigerian Army, the royal father brought his wealth of military experience to handle insecurity and played major roles in ensuring peace and harmony in his domain and beyond.

He also praised the entrepreneurial skills and business acumen the royal majesty deployed into agriculture and farming.

Commenting on his conferment, Ambassador Dada thanked the university and the chamber for finding him and others worthy of their recognition to bestow the honours on them. He promised to assist the chamber to achieve its objectives within his capacity as Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Speaking on behalf of himself and other awardees, Alhaji Abubakar said he was overwhelmed by the quality of the ceremony the chamber organised for the awards.

He pointed out that the award would spur him further to do more for the youth and humanity, especially through the agric business he established since he retired from the Army.

On hand to witness the award ceremony were distinguished members of the AACCI council, including: Dr. Engr. Umar Audu Bida, Dr. Festus Omole, Otunba Tunde Osho, and Ambassador John Shama Shaga, a Deputy Director of the ministry, who doubled as compeer at the event.
