Ajimobi’s Chief of Staff, Dr. Gbade Ojo, returns to classroom

The Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, has approved the resignation of his Chief of Staff, Dr Gbade Ojo.

The approval came on the heels of the expiration of the leave of absence obtained by Dr Ojo from the University of Ilorin, where he was a lecturer. The leave of absence expired on March 19, 2019.

A letter conveying the governor’s approval which was signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Olalekan Alli, stated that the withdrawal of service takes effect from March 18.

The former CoS joined the Ajimobi-led administration in March 2014 as Special Adviser, Political Matters

When Ajimobi secured a second term in 2015, Dr Ojo was recalled and elevated to the position of CoS, a post he held until his withdrawal of service.

Dr Ojo, who was promoted as an Associate Professor during his absence from the ivory tower, but could not assume the title, expressed his appreciation to the governor for the opportunity to serve the state.

He said that the appointment afforded him the opportunity to contribute his quota to the restoration, transformation and repositioning agenda of Ajimobi’s government, which has laid the foundation for a modern Oyo State
